Alpha Structural, Inc has done thousands of inspections of residential properties, leading to every conceivable type of foundation and hillside repair project. Alpha Structural, Inc. specializes in the engineering and construction of foundation repair, hillside repair and general structural rehabilitation. Many of the design methods used in this field were invented by Alpha Structural. To date we are the only company in Los Angeles licensed to engineer and build the type of work we perform.
We are equipped with the trained manpower and management experience to handle the engineering and construction of earthquake retrofitting, foundation repair, underpinning, caissons and grade beams, drainage problems, retaining walls, landslide remediation, and hillside repair - all performed with the same level of care.

THE HISTORY OF ALPHA STRUCTURAL, INC.
Having built many hillside custom homes in the 1980's, David Tourjé, the owner and President of the company, decided to specialize in foundation and hillside repairs due to the increasing demands for this type of work.
David Tourjé began in the construction trade in 1978. His focus was, from the beginning, on hillside construction and structural repair - becoming a journeyman carpenter and form setter. Tourjé constructed many high difficulty hillside homes during the 1980's and has underpinned or repaired over 1,500 damaged structures and slopes, inspecting and evaluating over 5,000 properties.
David Tourjé is licensed as a Foundation Contractor C-8, General Contractor (B-1), General Engineering Contractor (A) and Home Improvement Contractor (HIC).
Mark Schlaich is Vice President of Alpha Structural, Inc. and began in the construction trades in 1974. Mark's experience runs from expert carpenter through general contracting; having experience with custom homes, high end restaurants and large commercial buildings. Mark has personally inspected over 4,000 properties.
Dave Schlaich, Project Manager, schedules all our projects directly with our crews, which ensures a quality job with minimal delays. All of his foremen and carpenters have been personally trained by Dave and Mark and are specialists in this difficult trade.
