Alpha Structural performed a structural replacement of the existing pergola awning over the westerly street-level deck at this South Pasadena property. The approximately 37-foot-wide pergola required removal and replacement of deteriorated framing while maintaining the existing configuration on a like-for-like basis.
The project began with an engineering field modification detail followed by removal and disposal of the existing awning joists, rotted structural beams, and deteriorated 4x posts. This provided access to rebuild the pergola's primary support and overhead framing components.
